De nos jours, le marché du sport est devenu une entreprise rentable dans la bataille économique de l’industrialisation mondialisée. S’il n’échappe à personne que des évènements sportifs internationaux, comme la Coupe du monde ou les jeux olympiques, aiguisent les appétits financiers les plus féroces, les violences envers les femmes qu’ils occasionnent sont en revanche ignorées : viols d’athlètes féminines habilement tus, délégations olympiques non mixtes. Tout comme en période de guerre, lorsque des hommes s’affrontent, ce sont les femmes qui en font les frais.
La recrudescence de la prostitution liée à des rassemblements sportifs, a réellement pris de l’ampleur avec les Jeux Olympiques d’Athènes. La Coupe du monde de football, qui attire des millions de spectateurs en Allemagne, nous en fournit une fois de plus la preuve. A l’occasion de cet événement, l’industrie du sexe a construit un gigantesque complexe prostitutionnel qui s’exhibe sur 3000 m2. Tout est conçu pour engranger les meilleurs profits. Spéculant sur une demande accrue et en vue de rentabiliser ces investissements, les « entrepreneurs du sexe » prévoient d’« importer » des milliers de femmes pour répondre à la demande. On estime à plus de 40 000 le nombre de femmes provenant des pays Baltes, de l’Europe de l’Est et d’Afrique qui seront contraintes de se prostituer par tous les moyens.
Parce que nous sommes persuadées qu’un monde sans prostitution est possible, des associations féministes abolitionnistes en France dénoncent cette opération d’industrialisation du commerce du sexe d’une ampleur inégalée qui frise l’horreur et le sordide. Regroupées autour de la pétition internationale « Acheter du sexe n’est pas un sport » (http://catwepetition.ouvaton.org) lancée par la Coalition Contre la Traite des Femmes (CATW), plus de 60 organisations, partis et syndicats mènent une campagne pour s’opposer au trafic des femmes à des fins de prostitution. Des initiatives multiples ont eu lieu dans toute la France. Quant au gouvernement français, celui-ci brille par son silence, alors qu’il n’avait eu de cesse par sa loi de Sécurité intérieure de transformer les prostituées en délinquantes, rendant ainsi encore plus vulnérables celles et ceux qui sont aux mains des réseaux.
Pourquoi de telles régressions ? Pour l’industrie du sexe, le développement de la prostitution représente un marché potentiel très profitable, au même titre que n’importe quel service. Pour déculpabiliser ceux qui en tirent profit, l’industrie du sexe cherche à banaliser cet esclavage sexuel moderne en faisant reconnaître la prostitution comme une profession. Pour y parvenir, il s’agit pour eux d’éliminer les instruments qui rendent illégal l’exploitation du corps des femmes. Il leur faut lever la position abolitionniste (ratifié par l’ONU dans la Convention du 2 novembre 1949 dont l’Etat français se réclame toujours) afin de créer le rapport de force qui obligera les pays de l’Union européenne à adopter une position réglementariste qui assimile la prostitution à une profession.
C’est à la 4ème Conférence Mondiale sur les Femmes à Pékin, en 1995, que l’Allemagne et les Pays-Bas ont fait introduire dans la plateforme finale d’action une distinction entre « prostitution libre » et « prostitution forcée », ce qui revient en réalité à justifier les mesures prises contre le trafic des femmes et non la prostitution en tant que telle. Cette position est démagogique. Nous savons bien que les femmes n’optent pas librement pour la profession de prostituée, mais y sont contraintes pour des raisons économiques et par laviolence.
Ainsi, nous voyons combien la mondialisation libérale vit de l’aliénation des êtres en leur demandant d’être avant tout des consommateurs, nie et méprise la liberté des individus, crée et entretient la confusion entre libéralisme et liberté, profit et partage. C’est pourquoi le Réseau Féministe « Ruptures » s’oppose à la légalisation de la prostitution comme profession et milite pour la pénalisation du client et des proxénètes.
