S’il est généralement considéré que, sous les coups conjugués de l’usage intensif du SMS, de la lapidarité des chats internet, de la substitution de l’image au texte, de la déscolarisation passive et de l’abrutissement médiatique, nos jeunes filles et jeunes gens utilisent souvent un vocabulaire bien appauvri, il demeure cependant que rappeurs, as de la tchatche et autres ramenards des cités ont apporté quelques trouvailles linguistiques.

La réintégration du mot bouffon dans le vocabulaire courant en est une, quoique et parce que distanciée par rapport aux sens originaux.
